Nature + Artisans = Formule Magique

Respect for Natural materials and for the know-how of Craftspeople is always at the heart of any Jeff Aird piece or project.
Jeff Aird began modelling installations of opulent woodwork by British icon Clive Christian in 2006; first in Dublin and then from a flagship showroom in Paris, leading to interior architectural projects of increasing scale and complexity in Saudi Arabia, South Africa and all over Europe.
When tasked to design complete properties in Kyoto and Osaka for a famous Japanese family in 2013, Jeff opened a dedicated interior architectural and design studio in Paris.
Jeff Aird now offers 8 hand-knotted rug collections, complete interior design services—including hand sketching, cutting edge 3D Rendering, technical drawings and installation services—and a furniture collection, some of which are now available on 1stDibs and other markets.
This combined responsibility of design and build, often in exotic places, has afforded Jeff Aird great experience in what works and what doesn’t:
Modern design grounded in traditional principles remains stylish for decades.
Avoid trends.
Natural materials and artisan finishes age gracefully, unlike factory production.
Craftspeople - especially those who travel to projects away from home - are artists.

The projects featured here have been chosen for their exceptional standard in every aspect, with no compromises in any component.
These are complete projects by Jeff Aird: conception and design of each element; demolition and construction; through to sourcing, installation and finishing.
-
Our commitment to producing only supreme quality in rug collections and one-off commissioned furniture pieces has been appreciated by clients who seek authenticity and fine workmanship.

Design
We hand sketch, refer to imagery and discuss samples to convey a style, layout, idea or theme.
Then we go to technical plans and elevations. Once they’re advanced, we start on 3D renderings.
We offer the complete turnkey service, all the way through to the installation and final completion of the project.
Longevity
Regardless of how well an interior is conceived on paper; only a team of qualified artisans will guarantee that the design ages well after the ‘newly installed’ sheen starts to fade.
Real
An interior should still look well even when there is wear and tear. People want to be able to live in it and not worry too much about dents or scratches or ruffles… true quality will shine through all that, like an old Belstaff jacket.
Natural
A space that emphasises natural materials (woods, stones, metals, ceramics, glass, cottons, silks, wools, leathers) can feel stylish for many decades, even centuries. Synthetics, on the other hand, do not age well - neither in aesthetic or in condition.
Modifiable
Electronics and temperature control systems that are integrated discreetly or out of sight, with adequate cabling, allow for future upgrades (when technologies inevitably change) that will be non-disruptive to the original aesthetic design.
Artificial i
Interior spaces should express an owner's individuality and emotional connection to their personal environment.
AI will become useful for digital renderings but will need a human to steer the renderings in the right direction.
Ai cannot replicate human empathy, intuitive understanding, or the unique human experience of occupying and using interior spaces.
These human qualities remain essential to the client-designer relationship.
